Inspired by traditional French brocante markets, Bedford Flea is back this summer on 12 May, 21 July and 8 September.
From 11am – 4pm, Bedford Flea is the perfect way to spend a lazy, sunny Sunday, browsing the unique and eclectic stalls of quirky collectables, fabulous furniture, pre-loved books, vintage, vinyl, jewellery, clothing, street food and beer.
We advise a lie-in and then head into Bedford to pick up a coffee, have brunch, browse the stalls, meet the traders and snap up some one-of-a-kind bargains in the shadow of the historic St Paul’s Church.
The brilliant Affordable Art Market will return and the team have added a producers’ market too, featuring some of the region’s best locally-sourced food and more.
Stroll into town, or – if you’re coming from further afield, parking in all council-owned car parks is free every Sunday. There is also plenty of places to park your bike.
So, come to Bedford Flea this summer and make the most of your day. Meet up with friends in St Paul’s Square, grab a coffee from La Piazza and browse the stalls. Take a walk along Castle Lane – popping into Boyd’s of Bedford and Rogan’s Books – towards the Embankment of the beautiful River Great Ouse and enjoy brunch, lunch, gelato, waffles or a pint in one of Bedford’s restaurants, bars, cafes or pubs – many of whom will have special offers on the day.
Visit one – or all – of the town’s museums (Higgins, John Bunyan and Panacea), hire a bike or boat from the Longholme Cafe and check out some of Bedford’s many independent shops (we have more than Cambridge).
Miss it and you’ll definitely miss out!
