So parents and carers, we are a week or so in and I hope everyone is surviving so far! I’m surprisingly still sane (ish) and I haven’t turned to drink just yet (Bedford Park Concerts last Friday doesn’t count…)
We’ve also had a heatwave and thunderstorms and if we can get through those with children in tow then I’m pretty sure we can get through the rest of the holidays!
You may be an organised type of parent and have lots of things planned already or you may be more like me, trying to avoid feeling the dreaded ‘mum-guilt’, manically trying to think of things to do while still working from home and so normally resorting to planning things from day to day! Whichever you are, The Pavilion in Bedford Park and The Kiosk in Russell Park have some exciting things going on this summer…
Starting with this Saturday 3rd August, the talented team at Folksy Theatre are visiting Bedford Park, all the way from Glasgow, with their take on Shakespeare’s The Comedy of Errors…
‘An hysterical tale of two sets of identical twins, accidentally separated at birth who both turn up in the town of Ephesus, quite by chance, which leads to a series of wild mishaps, based on mistaken identities, leading to wrongful beatings, a near seduction, false accusations of infidelity, theft, madness and demonic possession! This play has it all!’
Gates open at 6pm for a 7pm start and The Pavilion will be open for drinks and snacks, including Pimms (you’ve earned it), pizza, and delicious strawberries and cream (one of their 5-a-day…and I always say fruit cancels out the cream…FACT!)
Suitable for all the family tickets are available here and children under 5 are FREE. Bring along a picnic rug or some chairs, keep your fingers crossed for good weather and get ready to enjoy the show!
This is something I have actually been organised enough to book and I’m looking forward to seeing my kids enjoy some theatre and to seeing what they look like without an Xbox controller or mobile phone stuck to their hands!
With all that Bedford has to offer; beautiful parks, the stunning Embankment, fantastic museums, delicious ice cream parlours, cinemas, independent shops and cafes….summer holidays…pfft! I got this!
