Together with his business partner, Simon Hollands, Rob owns Hollands Smith. Founded in 1992, Hollands Smith is one of the longest established independent estate agents in Bedford. During lockdown they are continuing to support clients, albeit remotely, and while it is quieter, they are active on social media, supporting fellow local businesses.
Looking forward to reopening the office when they are able, here Rob talks about what he is particularly looking forward to in life after lockdown.
Rice, The Pantry or The New Bombay, depending on what we fancy at the time! All favourites and we love meeting up with friends at all of them!
Most likely the Devonshire Arms in Dudley Street. A great pub and there’s always a local or two to chat to!
This is an easy one! Papillon on Castle Road. Almost a daily visit to see Lisa and the team since they opened and I’ve missed it like mad!
Does the hairdressers count????? It’s getting out of control! Can’t wait to visit Teresa Rosato (who I have been going to for years).
First out of town trip:
Norfolk, without a doubt. It’s been an annual visit for most of my life and a great place to go with the family (and the dog!).
Probably a dog walk to the Danish Camp in Willington
Definitely friends and family. Be it a few drinks with mates, meals out with close friends or sitting around a barbecue til late. Zooming/FaceTiming just isn’t the same!
Luckily, I’ve still managed an (almost) daily bike ride with my daughter but it’ll certainly be getting back in the gym to work off the excess food and alcohol with Luke Levitt at The Fit Collective!
Three words to sum up Bedford:
Independent, welcoming, community
Whilst we all take heed to social distancing measures we can’t help but imagine our first day without ‘lockdown’.
We’d love to hear your views on what you are missing most in the Borough? Please complete this very quick survey so when we come out the other side, we can all celebrate these wonderful places.
