Along the river we have The Bedford Swan Hotel, The Embankment one of the oldest hotels in Bedford and also The Embankment Hotel further up. If you’re looking for an overnight stay on a budget, Pilgrims Progress, Midland Road, is a Wetherspoons Hotel, and there are two Travelodge hotels, one on Manton Lane and one on Goldington Road.
The Castle Pub, Newnham Street, offers 5 ensuite rooms and is close to the Cultural Quarter and Bedford Blues grounds. The Old Piggery Guest House and Yurts, Wilstead Hill, Haynes, is a countryside B&B on a working farm.
If it’s glamping you’re after, Clophill Eco Lodge, Old Church Path, have self-catering eco-lodges you can rent, close to the beautiful ruin of St Mary’s Church and half way along the Greensand Ridge.
